Work four consecutive shifts, take four days off, then repeat. The eight-day cycle is simple to describe but does not stay on the same weekdays.
How the 4 on 4 off cycle works
Because eight days is longer than a week, each new cycle starts one weekday later. That makes a day-based calendar more reliable than copying a weekly template.
Estimate hours over a month
Choose the shift length, subtract unpaid breaks and add any premiums that apply. Monthly totals can vary because calendar months contain different numbers of cycle days.
